The Big Idea

I would love to kiss you
The price of kissing is your life
Now my loving is running toward my life shouting
What a bargain, let’s buy it

~Rumi

A young drug addict told us,

“When I first used heroin, it was like I was touched by the hand of God…”
Ever seen a film that focused on the Christian parent of a drug addict? Didn’t think so. There’s millions and millions of us out there, and our story’s never been told. Take a look at Lost Sheep.

Ever seen a movie where a Native American woman was the hero? Me, neither, but I’ve got one, based on actual events. Lozen, Apache Woman Warrior. I asked an Apache elder who he saw playing the lead role. His answer, “Angelina Jolie.” So much for cultural mis-appropriation.

So, welcome to Story Teller Films.

We’re glad you came to visit.

We’re looking for partners to work with us to put stories like these on screens of all sizes, today’s way of telling stories around the campfire, in a bigger and warmer and brighter circle.

And everybody’s welcome at our campfire. Join the family if you like what you see. Tell us your stories, if they’re good, if they “matter,” we’ll put them up right beside ours.

Just stay in touch, be part of this web of dreamers and doers. Tell your friends, tell your mother, and if you know somebody who knows somebody, be sure and tell them, too.

In the Book of Revelations, John the Prophet says, “write the things you have seen, and the things that are….”

But I didn’t read it first in the Bible, I heard that Henry Miller quoted it to Bob Dylan while they were playing ping-pong outside Miller’s Big Sur cabin.

You never know where you’re going to hear the truth.

Always be listening.

“Beauty is truth, truth beauty – that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know”
